Building My New Studio
Just over two weeks ago we broke ground on my new pottery studio. We have built the structure and run the electrical, but then mother nature decided to send us lots of May showers. While my gardens appreciate the rain, this has delayed the process of finishing out the interior.
We live near Houston and this area has been experiencing heavy rainfall almost daily for over a week and the ground is saturated. This has delayed the delivery for the final materials including insulation and wood to finish out the interior. I am hopeful we can get the materials this weekend before the rain starts again so we can get them installed and start painting.
This month marks two years since I have created a new piece of ceramic art. I have been developing my skills as a watercolor and acrylic artist, but clay is my preferred material. I anticipate having my studio fully functional by the end of June and will be working on some pieces for two boutique stores in Austin and a few of my neighbors have been patiently waiting for some garden sculptures and toad houses.
I look forward to getting back in the studio and opening up my online store again once I have built up my inventory. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see me create.
Thank you for stopping by.
