Finished the Little Houses

The three little houses have been glazed and fired to cone 5 for 8.5 hours. I used a red stoneware with grog and I am very happy with the color. I want to make a small batch without grog to see how that looks before making a final decision.

Each gingerbread house is different because I don't like cookie cutter houses. The roof glazes include a dark brown, glossy brown with buttery undertones and snow white.

One of the gingerbread houses does not have Christmas decorations, which makes it more versatile. I am really happy with the string of Christmas lights and (ceramic) candies and will definitely add more of those on future gingerbread houses.

I am very happy with the size of the houses.  Their small size means you can decorate with them on the coffee table, countertop, fireplace mantle or put them outside in your garden to add interest during the winter. These three gingerbread houses have been added to my online store.
